“Yes, Tybee is different in that it is more of an old-fashioned beach town with more houses than hotels or motels so be prepared; however, our room at the DeSoto was as nice as an average priced room at Disney world. We were allowed to view the room before booking since we had read such questionable reviews to see if it was to our satisfaction and were very impressed with the re-modeling. “Just returned from 5 nights at DeSoto Hotel. We had a nice size room with a king size bed. We had a ocean veiw room with a very nice view. Rooms have a refrigerator,microwave and coffeepot. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The internet is slow in the evening but is ok earlier or later. This hotel is about center on island and there is a couple of places to eat in walking distance.
