I have visited the Desoto several times mostly for the Pirate festival and this time for my niece’s wedding. I always come back to this hotel for the old time feel of it. I feel like I have stepped back in time when things were so much simpler but nicer. I enjoy the sitting area right behind the dunes to read as I watch the sunrise, I love the beach access, the pool, the rec.room and the feel of stepping back in time. If you want a fast paced ultra modern hotel then this is not the place for you but if you want to experience Tybee time then this hotel is for you. The only suggestion I would have is better creamer for the coffee and a better place to enjoy the free breakfast.
